Had this been a typical Mid-Atlantic winter, I would've started this post out by saying something about how cold and wintry it is; how much we're all looking forward to Spring, and how surprisingly, it's the best time to get your outdoor furnishings ordered! Well, we've barely seen snow, and cherry blossoms are taking their chances, so it's not exactly the diametrically opposed seasonal post I planned. Despite that, I'll be priming your outdoor furnishings design-eye with some of the newest contemporary options out there!
If you have been considering an outdoor living area, over the winter is a great time to engage your favorite designer. We even have a plan laid out for you here. To jumpstart the flow of all kinds of design ideas, we pin a lot of ideas (indoor/outdoor, garden, veranda, covered, patios, decks, fireplaces, and more!). Once the ground thaws out, the landscaping crews get to digging in preparation for installation of pavers, shrubs, trees, and perennials. Soon, you're only weeks away from greener grass (or for the impatient, meet our friend, sod), a sturdier deck, or a handsome stone patio. That being said, stylish and well-made outdoor furniture will take several weeks from decision to installation, so it's best to start on that portion of the project right now. See, I said you were right on time!
Is a classic look more your style? Go with teak or one of the ideas from our post from summer. We hope this post helped to get some ideas flowing for your warm weather space!
